Use Biological Mosquito Control during mosquito season - June to October, in most warmer areas - or when mosquitoes are present.
The Bacillus thuringiensis iraelensis (Bti) produces a protein crystal that reacts with cells in the guts of mosquito and fly larvae, giving them what amounts to bleeding ulcers resulting in the death of the larvae before it can become a breeding, adult mosquito.
Because the crystal protein is specific to the cells lining the gut of the mosquito and black fly larvae, it does not affect other insects like dragonflies, nor higher life forms including plants and animals (pets), nor humans.
